After having relentlessly worked towards the causes of Women Empowerment, HIV-AIDS Awareness, LGBTQ Rights, Environment Protection and such others, Power Woman and Social Activist Smita Thackeray is now on a mission to propagate Art and Culture. Owing to the dearth of cultural hubs in the Western suburbs of the city, Smita Thackeray's the Mukkti Cultural Hub in Model Town, Andheri West, where Art in the form of dance, music, paintings and performance can be practiced and showcased, comes like a breath of fresh air.

While Mega Star Amitabh Bachchan gave his blessings to the Mukkti Cultural Hub, filmmakers and celebrities of the likes of Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Sonu Nigam, Shekhar Suman, Gautam Rode, Pankhuri Awasthy, Makarand Deshpande, Ila Arun, Dolly Thakore, Guneet Monga, Indra Kumar, Archana Kochhar, Manyata Dutt, Neeraj Kabi, Mohomed Morani, Lucky Morani, Onir, Ramesh Taurani, Rekha Chaudhari, Sangeeta Ahir, Shiamak Davar, Ajay Kapoor, Sanjay Chhel and many others walked in hordes to extend their support Smita Thackeray and her team.     

Enthused Smita Thackeray, “Andheri does not have many multi-use spaces for artistic and cultural expression. This World Culture Day week, we have added a new vantage point in the form of the Mukkti Cultural Hub in Model Town, Andheri West, that will cater to the needs of people in Performing Arts and we are hoping for it become the hub of entertainment in the suburbs. I am overcome with felicity today that Shri Amitabh Bachchan and the rest of the film industry has come forward to support me in this cause.”

Mukkti Cultural Hub has an auditorium capable of accommodating 378 people, 680 sq. ft. of  workshop space, 1000 sq. ft. of open terrace space, a 2500 sq. ft. dance studio. Every detail is taken care of, not just infrastructurally, but also ideologically, by providing State of The Art equipment, alongside wheelchair accessibility in all spaces. Mukkti Cultural Hub is hoping to become a junction of intersection for a wide variety of artistic and intellectual pursuits, pulling in diverse crowds through its doors.

#HawaAaneDe - Bhamla Foundation &  Ministry of Environment's Anti Air Pollution Anthem Ahead of This World Environment Day

In a joint collaboration with the Ministry of Environment – Government of India, Bhamla Foundation, in association with Dia Mirza, the UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador for India, Asif Bhamla, through Bhamla Foundation, has curated a special anthem, to promote practices healthy for the environment, keeping in line with the UNO’s agenda environment health, at C'est La Vie, Bandra.

Air pollution, the ‘silent killer’ that claims thousands of lives daily, has become a growing concern world over. It is primarily caused by the burning of fossil fuel, thereby leading to emissions, finally leading to air pollution as we know it today. Pollution has been around us for decades and it consequences can prove to be deadly. We have been unable to contain the dastardly aftermath of the growing menace. According to the United Nations Organization (UNO), approximately 4.2 million people die prematurely, as a result of exposure to ambient air pollution. 

The #HawaAaneDe video was teased by Dia Mirza while she shot for it with Swanand Kirkire, who has penned for the multi-artiste featuring track. The anthem is written by National award-winning lyricist Swanand Kirkire. The song is set to voice by Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal Dadlani, Sunidhi Chauhan and Ayushmann Khurrana among others. The anthem is an Asif Bhamla led Bhamla Foundation initiative. 

“The members of the entertainment fraternity have come together with our Bhamla Foundation with a hope to make a lasting difference, so our sons and daughters can breathe air that won’t harm them. This is the time now, to make a difference, before the very air we breathe, kills us! And hence the initiative,” averred Asif Bhamla, President – Bhamla Foundation. 

Bhamla Foundation, in the previous year, created the #BeatPlasticPollution anthem on the lines of United Nation’s ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ initiative. The trendy anthem based on the need to curb plastic usage as the name suggests, went viral on media, garnering a lot of traction. Bhamla Foundation, had earlier, also set the environment protection thought in motion through their sapling plantation drive.

Rajkummar Rao and Shaan pledged their support to the cause of air pollution during the shoot of the song.

Writer-Director-Life Coach Anusha Srinivasan Iyer was among one of the many awardees honoured on stage. She added, “Being awarded for community work like being a life coach is truly an honour. I’d like to thank anyone and everyone who has helped someone in their community to improve lives.”

Basannt R. Rasiwasia, a renowned Vastu & Numerologist also received an award for his contribution towards Vastu science. He averred, "Vastu is a complex subject. Mann Bipin And Percussion

Mann Bipin, a young Indian drummer currently based in LA, started drumming at the tender age of just 2 years. Mainly known for his impeccable speed, power-packed performance, aesthetic style and funky groove, he is best known for playing and leading his father's band, ‘The Beaterzz’, back in India.

Before graduating from Musicians Institute – college of contemporary music located at Hollywood Boulevard, California, Mann Bipin learned the stellar art of drumming from Mr. Pankaj Sharma from the time he was just eleven. The struggle came to an end when Nana Patekar, a celebrated actor in the Indian film industry, witnessed him live and told his assistant, Mr. Bipin Chunawala, Mann's father, “Mark my words. Your kid is going to be a star." Then, they decided to sponsor Mann for his music education.

During his time at MI, he was awarded as ‘The Best Player Of The Year’. He also has performances with renowned Jazz bass guitarist Marcus Miller to his credit! He has also played for Lars Deutsch, an Emmy award recipient and Oscar nominee, with International award winning artist Paloma Rush. He also played with Phrimaphaa Khornrojjachawin (nokphrima), a KPN Award winner'09, Thailand; Best singer in R&B genre in World Championship of Performing Arts 2016, 2nd price in International Festival White Night of Saint Petersburg and May Patcharapong, an internationally acclaimed bass player in a saxophone pub, Thailand. Due to which he did a drum clinic in Bangkok, Thailand in Chandrakasem Rajabhat University with nokphrima.

Currently, he is playing at Andrae Crouch’s church, often referred to as ‘the father of modern gospel music’ by contemporary Christians and gospel music professionals, with Pattie Howard as the music director, known for singing background for many major artists including Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Mary J Bilge, Brandy, Fantasia, Queen LaTifah, Madonna, Andrea Crouch, Michael Jackson, Curtis Siger, Lisa Stanfield, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Reba Rambo, Diana Ross among others. He is currently, also, the drummer for Arthur Menezes, ‘Gibson award/Albert King Award’ for best guitarist by the Blues Foundation (IBC 2018).

This has been the journey of a middle class Indian boy from playing for Gujarati Garba to Jazz, Blues, Funk and Gospel music. Truly, struggle comes to an end when someone like Nana Patekar holds your hand.

रोनित रॉयच्या आणि सोमा घोष यांच्या हस्ते परमेश पॉलच्या 'द सॅक्रेड नंदी' प्रदर्शनाचे अनावरण

नामवंत अभिनेता रोनित रॉय आणि पद्मश्री सन्मानित गायिका डॉ. सोमा घोष यांच्या हस्ते प्रसिद्ध कलाकार परमेश पॉल च्या 'द  सॅक्रेड नंदी' ह्या नवीन कलाकृतीचेअनावरण करण्यात आले. परमेश पॉल यांच्या ह्या नवीन कलाकृतीचे प्रदर्शन जहांगीर आर्ट गॅलरीमध्ये आयोजित करण्यात आले आहे. याप्रसंगी समाजसेवक डॉ.अनिल काशी मुरारका, कलाकार पृथ्वी सोनी, गौतम पाटोळे, अनन्या बॅनर्जी, समीर मंडल, गौतम मुखर्जी, विश्वा साहनी, अमिषा मेहता आणि संजुक्ता  बरिकयांसारख्या अनेक नामवंतांनी उपस्थिती दर्शविली होती.  

कलाकार परमेश पॉल यांचा आध्यात्मिकतेचा प्रवास त्यांच्या बालपणापासूनच सुरु झाला. तेव्हापासूनच आध्यात्मिकतेचा अभ्यास म्हणजे त्यांच्यासाठी त्यांची कलाचआहे. त्यांच्या कलेचे मुख्य वैशिष्ट्य म्हणजे  प्रत्येक कलाकृतीस मग्न होऊन पाहिल्यास जीवनातील एका सुमधुर लयीचा अनुभव होतो ज्याकारणाने तुम्ही संपूर्णसुष्टिशी एका विशिष्ट भावनात्मक नात्यात बांधले जाता.  

परमेश पॉलच्या कलात्मक प्रवासाची सुरुवात पश्चिम बंगालच्या छोट्याशा नादिया नामक त्यांच्या गावापासून झाली. सुरुवातीचे शालेय दिवस त्यांचे पूर्णतः कलेनेव्यापले गेले होते. कुंभाराच्या घरी जन्माला आलेल्या ह्या बालकाने चित्रकलेला आपल्या जीवनातील प्रत्येक क्षणांचा भागीदार बनवले. परमेश पॉल पुढे म्हणाले,  "मीस्वतःच्या प्रयत्नांनी पुढे आलेला कलाकार आहे. माझा हा प्रवास मी आपल्या कुटुंबाबरोबर सुरु केला, आम्ही देवी आणि देवतांचे अद्भुत सुंदर अवताराच्या मुर्त्याघडवायचो, परंतु इस्कॉन मधील वास्त्यव्याने मी रंगांकडे खेचला गेलो. माझे पेंटिंग्स ह्या अध्यात्म आणि निसर्गाची ओढ प्रतीत होण्याऱ्या आहेत. त्या प्रत्येकपेंटिंग्सची प्रेरणा भारताच्या वेगवेगळ्या भागात केलेल्या प्रवासातून घेतली गेलेली आहे,  जिथे मी माझ्या स्वतःच्या नवीन नवीन रचना शोधण्याचा प्रयत्न करतअसतो. माझी प्रत्येक कलाकृती जे पाहिले, अनुभवले त्यावर आधारित असते."   

परमेश पॉल म्हणतात, "मी सुरुवातीपासूनच माझ्या कलेशी प्रामाणिक आहे. जे मला पटले ते मी कॅनवास वर उतरवले. मंदिरातुन येणाऱ्या सुमधुर भजनांचे आणिवाद्यांचे आवाज ऐकतच मी मोठा झालो. निसर्गाबद्दलचे आकर्षण आणि पवित्र नंदी देवी देवतांचे भव्य वाहन कॅनवासवर रेखाटने म्हणजेच त्यांची पूजा केल्यासारखेआहे असे मी मानतो."

परमेश पॉल यांच्या प्रत्येक चित्रकलेला हिंदू पौराणिक धार्मिक अध्यात्म कथेचा स्पर्श आहे ज्यामुळे त्यांच्या प्रत्येक कलाकृतीत एक अस्थिर ऊर्जा  आहे, ह्याचकारणामुळे  नंदीची चमक आणि पावित्र्य दोन्ही भौतिकदृष्ट्या आणि शारीरिकदृष्ट्या वैभवशाली दिसतात. "जेव्हा माझ्या कलेचे प्रशंसक कौतुक करतात आणिमाझ्या कामाबद्दल माझ्याशी बोलण्यासाठी पुढे येतात तेव्हा मी माझ्या आयुष्याचा प्रवास पूर्णतः कलाकार म्हणून पूर्ण करतो असे मला वाटते."

Sushant Divgikar, former Mr. Gay India 2014, features in a single "Love is Love", a pride anthem by Swedish artiste Petter Wallenberg, founder of international LGBTQIA organization Rainbow Riots

'Love is Love’, features India’s first openly gay celebrity and drag queen, Sushant Divgikar. ”Love is Love” is India’s first Pride anthem, a mix of classic Western dance music with both English and Hindi lyrics.  Divgikar, former Bigg Boss contestant will be out on iTunes, Spotify and all major digital platforms worldwide on April 2nd.

“The single ‘Love is Love’ speaks about equal love, about being true to one’s authentic self,” Sushant Divgikar said. 

Model, VJ, reality show participant, actor, singer, and now drag queen—Sushant Divgikar wears many hats. The 27-year-old, hailing from Mumbai, debuted as a drag queen in Delhi in September.

“This track is very close to my heart and spreads the message that love always wins. This is a great time for this anthem to be introduced to the world and a new India that finally allows people to love freely and without fear.” added the former "Bigg Boss" contestant.

After scrapping of Section 377, India is slowly moving into a space of acceptance and inclusion, making all love legal. Sushant Divgikar as an LGBTQIA flag-bearer has showcased himself with belief. Sushant Divgikar has found himself a place internationally with, Rani-Ko-He-Nur his drag avatar.

This outstanding participant in a music reality show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,' has been a passionate singer since he was a 16-year-old.. His hard-work has led him to showcase his talent on television. Sushant started out with ads, progressed to TV shows, and gradually ventured into singing in both male and female voices.

He made this journey because of his honesty to himself. In an interview Sushant said, “I did face some challenges, given my orientation. I have done TV shows where people have not been friendly. But there are also those who don’t give a damn as long as the work is getting done. I was lucky to have these people supporting me”.

डीएस पाहवा द्वारा निर्मित 'कुछ मीठा हो जाये ' को पहले ही दिन दर्शकों से मिला स्टैंडिंग ओवेशन

डीएस पाहवा निर्मिति नाटक ''कुछ मीठा हो जाये'' जिसका निर्देशन किया है प्रख्यात निर्देशक रमन कुमार ने , यह नाटक हाल ही मैं बांद्रा के रंगशारदा में हुआ। यह एक माँ-बेटी की जिंदगी मैं होनेवाली भावनात्मक उतार-चढ़ाव की कहानी पर निर्धारित है ।  इस कलाकृति मैं प्रख्यात अभिनेत्री सुधा चंद्रन और रिद्धिमा राकेश बेदी मुख्य भूमिका में दिखाई दिए तथा अवतार गिल, पैंटल, रवि गौसेन, पूजा राजपूत और हर्षिता शुक्ला ने सहायक भूमिका निभाई। 

"ये नाटक एक मधुर रिश्ते की कहानी है जो कीसी कारणवश इसमें कड़वापन आ जाता है । निर्माता डी एस पाहवा ने कहा-मुझे खुशी है कि इसे पहली बार में ही दर्शोको से स्टैंडिंग ओवेशन मिला । निर्माता के ब्यान  को सहयोग करते हुए निर्देशक रमन कुमार ने आगे कहा '' दर्शकों  से इस प्रकार मिली सराहना यह दर्शाती है की माँ- बेटी के इस रिश्ते को दर्शकों ने काफी पसंद किया है। 

अभिनेता अवतार गिल ने दिनेश कुमार उर्फ डीके की भूमिका निभाई है, जो सुधा चंद्रन के किरदार सागरिका के  दोस्त है। अभिनेता पेंटल ने एक तबला वादक का किरदार निभाया है जो सागरिका (सुधा चंद्रन) के एक वफादार और घनिष्ट मित्र है, जबकि रवि गोसाईं ने रीमा (रिधिमा राकेश बेदी) के पति का किरदार निभाया है। रिधिमा जिसने सागरिका की बेटी रीमा के किरदार को निभाया है, यह किरदार एक ऐसी बेटी का है जो अपनी मां को अपने पिता के शराब की लत , उनके अकस्मात और अप्राकृतिक मौत की जिम्मेदार मानती है। दर्शकों ने इसके प्रदर्शन और संवाद की खूब सराहना की।

भारतीय मनोरंजन उद्योग के साथ डीएस पाहवा का जुड़ाव 70 के दशक में हुआ, जहां दिल्ली  में सिनेमा हॉल चलाने से लेकर उन्होंने 40 से अधिक हिंदी फिल्मों  का वितरण किया। फिल्म वितरण के अलावा, डीएस पाहवा ने कई बॉलीवुड हस्तियों के साथ कई समीक्षकों द्वारा प्रशंसित नाटकों का निर्माण किया है। ''कुछ मीठा हो जाये  '' इस नाटक को भी अच्छी तरह से आकार दिया गया ।

रंग शारदा के सफल शो के बाद टीम ''कुछ मीठा हो जाये'' तैयार है  रॉयल ओपेरा हाउस, मुंबई में होनेवाले अगले शो के लिए। इसके पश्तात इस नाटक के देशभर में अनेक दौरे तय है।

Ace Director Raman Kumar brings together Sudha Chandran-Riddhima Rakesh Bedi with veterans and youngsters in DS Pahwa's play, Kucch Meetha Ho Jaye

Producer DS Pahwa, known for his classy yet contagious plays, is back with his next mega-production, Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye, an emotional rollercoaster, directed by Raman Kumar. Starring Sudha Chandran and Riddhima Rakesh Bedi as the mother and daughter duo with Paintal, Avtar Gill, Ravi Gossain, Poojaa Raajput and Harshita Shukla among others, Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye is a play about relationships and memories. “A play dealing with a sweet relationship gone sour,” divulged Producer DS Pahwa.

Ace director Raman Kumar averred, “It is a play about the emotional turmoil between a mother and a daughter. What can happen if a daughter hates her mother, or worse if, she believes that her mother is the reason for her father’s death.”

The cast and crew of the play Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye were spotted rehearsing at Kent Star Rehearsal Hall, Veera Desai Road. The play is scheduled to embark on a tour on March 31st, 8pm at Rang Sharda, Bandra, followed by April 12 at Royal Opera House, 6.30 pm among other cities.

Avtar Gill plays Dinesh Kumar alias DK, who is a friend to Sudha Chandran’s on-screen character, Sagarika. Paintal plays the role of a loyalist who accompanies Sudha’s Sagarika as a Tabla player whereas Ravi Gossain plays Reema’s (Ridhima Bedi) husband. Ridhima portrays Sagarika’s daughter who blames her mother on her father’s alcoholism, eventually dying an untimely and unnatural death.

DS Pahwa’s association with the Indian entertainment industry goes back to the 70s, where from running a cinema hall in Delhi, he has distributed over 40 Hindi films. Beside film distribution, DS Pahwa has produced several critically acclaimed plays with numerous Bollywood personalities. “It's a play on relationships by master director Raman Kumar. The cast is simply perfect. And the rehearsals are shaping up very well,” concluded DS Pahwa.
